Indifference in Solitude

If we said everything that we wanted to say
And we screamed in delight as the flesh tore away
If we tore out our eyes to begin to see
If we broke the bones of our cages to be free
If our pain and frustration ran like rivers of blood
Damnable doubt washed away in that flood

And life was the same for those constantly judging
Those sad and lost, hopelessly begrudging
What if our very essence was all that remained
Entwined in that moment with no other hearts maimed

Would you still afford to look away?
